Ce
premier colloque international "HOMER 2011" se veut une large rencontre
scientifique sur la question de l’archéologie des peuplements littoraux
et des interactions homme/milieu dans le domaine géographique de la
façade Manche Atlantique de l’Europe, autour des avancées récentes de
l’archéologie côtière et insulaire dans le complexe Atlantique/
Manche/Mer du Nord.
> Il suscitera d’une part des synthèses et
confrontations d’expériences dans les divers pays d’Europe concernés
(France, Ecosse, Angleterre, Irlande, Pays de Galles, Belgique,
Pays-Bas, Espagne, Portugal, Danemark…) et, d’autre part, une
prospective sur les développements de la recherche européenne en
archéologie et archéosciences dans le domaine littoral.

This international "HOMER 2011" conference aims to bring together the
many researchers interested in questions of coastal archaeology,
maritime communities and the interactions between people and the marine
environment. The geographical frame of reference will be the Channel,
North Sea and Atlantic areas of Europe.
> The conference will
feature recent research and shared experiences in the various European
countries concerned (France, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Belgium,
Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Denmark). It will also look forward to
consider the future development of European research programs dedicated
to coastal archaeology.
