L'Archéologie en Rhénanie-du-Nord–Westphalie en danger !

Chères et chers membres de l'APRAB,

La publication du colloque sur les "Paysages funéraires de l'Âge du Bronze" que l'APRAB avait co-organisé en 2008, à Herne, avec le "LWL-Archäologie für Westfalen" est un des derniers volumes des "Bodenaltertümer Westfalens" qui ont profité d'une subvention considérable du Land. Les nouvelles sur l'avenir de cette collection, éditée depuis 1929, ne sont pas rassurantes. Désormais, il faut même s'inquiéter sur l'avenir de l'Archéologie dans ce Land le plus peuplé de l'Allemagne (et qui est pourtant doté du plus fort poids économique) ! 

En Rhénanie-du-Nord–Westphalie, l'archéologie (services archéologiques, archéologie préventive, musées) est portée par deux associations intercommunales, le LVR en Rhénanie du Nord et le LWL en Westphalie, ainsi que la ville de Cologne qui possède son propre service archéologique. Les activités de fouilles de ces organismes étaient jusqu'ici co-financées par l'état, avec environ 12 Mio Euros par an jusqu'ici. Maintenant, le Land de Rhénanie-du-Nord–Westphalie prépare la cessation totale de ses subventions dès 2015 ! Or, la somme en question ne pourra jamais être compensée par les trois organismes concernés... 

Nos collègues de la prestigieuse association "Verein von Altertumsfreunden im Rheinland", fondée en 1841 et éditrice des "Bonner Jahrbücher", viennent de diffuser l'appel que je vous fais suivre ci-dessous. Ils vous renvoient à une pétition lancée par la DEGUF (http://www.dguf.de/), association indépendante d'archéologues allemands qui centralise en ce moment les protestes.

Archaeology in North Rhine-Westphalia in danger.

Dear authors, reviewers, and friends of the Bonner Jahrbücher,

the responsible Ministry of the federal State of Nordrhein-Westfalen (Minister Michael Groschek) and the State government are considering an immediate budget cut of the regional funds for archaeology and the protection of monuments from 2013 and their total cancellation from 2015 onwards. This has caused serious returns among the experts and in the press. The Verein von Altertumsfreunden im Rheinlande as independent institution and co-editor of the Bonner Jahrbücher is taking part in this protest.

The cuts on schedule endanger also the publication activities of the editors of the Bonner Jahrbücher and jeopardize our review.

For this reason, the online petition of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ur- und Frühgeschichte is recommended for signing. Please inform your colleagues in your institution, and your country:
